RESPONSIBILITIES: In this role, the primary responsibility is creating and delivering innovative, hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences for K-8 students at Talcott Mountain Academy, as well as TMSC’s outreach and co-curricular programs. Instructional topics may include robotics, Arduino/processing, Raspberry Pi, 3D design/printing, VR/AR, and standard productivity/ creativity software. Instruction will include classroom, lab, and field settings on campus and at off-site locations; occasional evenings and weekend days may be required, and the summer months are among TMSC’s busiest. In addition to instructional duties, this role also encompasses providing IT support and training for colleagues and the institution at large. The colleague in this role may also be responsible for maintaining materials, equipment, and spaces relative to the Computer Science program; participating in and leading professional development opportunities; contributing to organization-wide initiatives and teams; and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will be an innovative and inspiring educator with expertise in one or more of the following areas: computer science, robotics, information systems, software development/engineering, and/or a related discipline.
